Seth Showstak,
i was recently listening to your feb 20th podcast where you were discussing ufo’s. you make yourself out to be open minded, but you clearly are bias and you let it show quite a bit. i am very skeptical person but i feel there does seem to be a stigma and a bias against anyone who believes there may be more to the sitings than just miss-identification or balloons or good ole swamp gas. here is one example, i have heard you mention the Phoenix lights on a couple different occasions and every time you mention the lights that appeared i believe it was at 9:30 or 10. it is commonly accepted that these were in fact illumination flares. the thing is there is much more to this than that. there were very many witnesses that reported a sighting at 8 to 8:30 of a large v shaped craft that flew directly over them and the witnesses fell right along a path. many of them reported that it flew slowly and silently right over there heads, i would think that would be hard to mistake for a flare. and as with you many of the people who are asked what they think this was, conveniently leaves that part of the story out and only mentions the part about the flares that the military dropped hour and a half later. I used think fairly highly of you for what you are doing, but as of late i really wonder why you are at seti at all.

i do not pretend to know what these people are seeing but they must be seeing something, and i can not imagine they are all mistaken. and what i think a lot of these people who are wanting scientist to get involved only for the scientist to say there is no solid evidence,i think what needs to be done is the scientist need to try and use their skills and their access to the high end type of equipment that is need to collect the solid evidence and to once and for all determine what people are seeing.

what really ticks me of is there is way more evidence for ufo’s than there is of a supreme creator, yet those who believe in a god get respect and those who believe in ufo’s are ridiculed.

sincerely,
rob
